Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving week always means many different things to me....I Love Thanksgiving! It is my favorite holiday for many reasons. #1 I am thanksful for all the blessings in my life: my family; beautiful children, a husband that loves, great parents and so many other family members. Really good friends...friends that can be counted on one hand and in any kind of times good or bad. I love my beautiful home so full of memories of other Thanksgivings, birthday parties, and just plain old days in and days out. I love my business and my customers and all the times of their lives that they have allowed us to celebrate with them.  I won't mention the fact that -lol- I don't have to sell, give or accept presents!!!!! Thanksgiving is just that, fun, food, games, talk, food, laughter, desert, and more fun. It is the best.

I did get my turkey in the Martha Stewart brine this a.m. so it will be ready to roast Thanksgiving morning. Luckily I have so many other people coming that are all bringing goodies I won't have to do lots of cooking...which is great because I am beat....getting ready for Christmas at Amos Jewelry is a huge job...and it always happens Thanksgiving week.

So my Dilyn Designs are going to be a little slow here for awhile, but I am still full of lots of new ideas...and I will work as I can with the idea that after the Christmas season the ideas will be designed right into reality and into my little shop.

Break Time

I've been working for 3 weeks straight...on top of working full time at Amos Jewelry...which I love....and taking care of my 14 year old grandson...which I also love...and taking care of my precious husband....which I love oh so much...anyway back to my topic. I have been thinking, working, thinking, dreaming, working, posting, trying to figure out how to get these pictures on Etsy and what to day about the pieces and how much to charge for them.....and on and on and on...that my brain is about dead....so...I took a break for a couple days and I feel much more ready for the holidays and every thing that entails.

But remember Lynne you still have 4....yes count them 1 2 3 4 more bouquets almost finished and ready to post plus 3 hairpieces and I want to do some pomanders and I have an idea for the most precious rhinestone handle tiny purse that could be used as a bridesmaids accessory and ... while I was at Dakota's (my 14 year old grandson) Basketball tournament today I stopped in at the coolest quilt shop and just had a little inspiration about a little......cutzie quiltzie wristlet /cuff done in those pretty cool cotton fabrics like the ones I saw...I could add cutzie or what ever kind it called for buttons...which I also saw there....anyway...lots to think of for Dilyn Design...and I am loving every minute of it.

Etsy shop almost open!!!!

Well it's one day past the 17th and I actually have about 12 of my designs on the Dilyn Design Etsy page....very excited and tired. Quite a process.....make the article (which of course involves thinking up the design...then getting all the ingrediants...then putting it together) then need to take pictures; pictures that show off the design on the web...then download the picture...oh yea have to figure out how to do that, only took me one whole sunday to get 1 design online****also needed to write an interesting decription of each design and figure out a resonable price...how much for shipping....Well anyway there are 12 designs on right now....of course I am thinking I should have about 100 hits by now lol!!!!!!

Getting ready for Etsy show

This is my copy for my pink ice bouquet...got to see what it looks like in print....ha!
Having a blast putting all this together...no matter what.

The “Pink Ice” cascading bridal bouquet is compact and filled with blissfully romantic vintage pink silk roses nestled together with tufts of sheer pink georgette. Loops of Swarvoski crystal pearls, fresh water pearls and Swarvoski bicone and lochrose crystals are gathered with wide double-faced baby pink satin loops and tightly bound into a graceful tapering handle covered in the pink georgette and wound with a pearl strand that falls into a trailing streamer of glistening crystals and pearls. The entire bouquet is dusted with crystal fairy dust and finished with streamers of crystals and pearls dangling from the ends of the shorter cascades on either side of the center. This heirloom bouquets sets in a 20” crystal vase for viewing and display when not in the brides hands.

Sunday Promises!!!!

I am working some every day trying to get my Etsy Dilyn Design storefront up and running. Having a hard time getting the header up. Don't know too muich about jpeg's and gifs, ect... So I am learning by trial and error, and I am learning. Abbey says on SMP website
That you should write on your blog every day for 3 months or so to get a good start. So I am going to try to do that and get into some kind of actual schedule on what I am working on.
#1 Finish "Pink Ice" cascade bouquet...just have some finishing touches, finish the bridesmaid bouquet that goes with it and I think I will make a little Wimzy Wand and Nosegay to match. Try to be done with all of it by October 21st.
