So Much Going On at Dilyn Design!!!

Hello! We have been away from the Dilyn Blog for a time...working on a fabulous wedding for Megan and Eric Jostes. I am caught between wanting to post EVERYTHING fun and exciting we
do while putting together a celebration or wedding....and keeping it secret so that when my clients guests arrive at their event the surprise and excitement is not spoiled!

Megan and Eric's wedding was so full of fun and whimsy it is hard to know where to begin.

I guess at the beginning...Megan told me they were looking for something beachy and glamorous, but understated. When I saw the Turtle invitation that Megan and Eric chose I knew we were going to have fun!!!!

I JUST GOT ENGAGED!!!!! NOW WHAT?????

Congratulations!!!! You just got engaged!

I know its such an exciting time and you want to get started planning NOW.

But hold on!

As a Wedding consultant I should be saying " Get busy Girl", but instead I am telling you to "take a few deep breaths, enjoy the moment and pick a day where you both can sit down and truly talk about what you both want.

Have fun planning in the first few months of your engagement, it is such an exciting time.

Before you begin your wedding design - answer these 12 questions to get an idea of how you want your wedding to "feel":

1. “What are five words you would use to describe your wedding day?”

2. “What are your favorite colors?”

3. “What are your least favorite colors?”

4. “Where do you shop for clothes?”

5. “Where do you shop for home decor?”

6. “What are your hobbies and interests?”

7. “What are your top three priorities for the wedding?”

8. “What are your favorite flowers”

9. “What are your least favorite flowers?”

10. “How important are flowers and decor?”

11. “What are your favorite restaurants and types of food?”

12. “What type of music do you listen to?”

If you find that you are becoming to stressed a Planner (Dilyn Design!!!) can help with all the details while allowing you the fun of picking colors, choosing themes and finding the perfect dress.

My Wedding Concierge

For the "Newly Engaged" or the "Not so Newly Engaged"...If your looking for some serious help planning one of the most special days of your life....
This little company featured on the Sage Wedding Pros website this morning is very impressive: My Wedding Concierge. This company offers a wedding
planning tool for engaged couples. What makes this site so different? It gives couples the opportunity to sort and organize all of their favorite wedding vendors, design ideas, and wedding blogs. They also have a super-snazzy iPhone app. Wall Street Journal did a story this week on the best wedding planning apps out there and praised this app for the ability to filter through the massive amounts of information on wedding blogs. And, if you tweet with co-owner Phyllis Cheung you already know that she is kind and good-hearted, always “paying it forward” with tweets.
